My son Brandon was my middle child whom had a heart of gold and was the comedian of the family. He was in a one vehicle accident that he was the passenger in which he broke his neck and had to have surgery to put a plate & 2 pins in. He was just 16 years old and the Doctors started prescribing him opiates which started his addiction. He was then in & out of rehabs and jail. Before he passed away in 2018 he had spent 7 months in jail. I was in Kentucky when he got released from jail and my daughter-in-law who is married to my oldest son took Brandon to probation for intake and she sent me a picture of him which you could clearly see he was messed up and probation did not drug testing and he also vomited in their office. This was August 31st of 2018 and on September 10th 2018 I received the worst call of my life telling me that Brandon had passed away. I feel like if he would have got violated that day he went to probation he would still be alive. My oldest son told me a police officer that was at the scene had told him just a week earlier Brandon saved another boy's life who is the same age as him. I guess he had gotten stabbed and everybody ran except for Brandon who stayed behind to stop the bleeding and waited for paramedics to get there even though he could have been in trouble with probation for just being there. But that's the way Brandon was he cared a lot about other people. He also left behind two baby boys ages 3 and 1-year-old who I don't get to see cuz they've been adopted out. But as long as I'm alive I will never stop telling my son's story in hopes that it may help another addict, and keeping his memory alive.
